Greg Pekala


Greg joined Crumback & Associates in November 2020.  He began his accounting career in 19966 with a CPA and consulting firm located in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.

Greg earned his Bachelor of Business Administration at Loyola University in Baltimore.  He was a member of the national scholastic and professional accounting fraternity.  He obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license during his initial sitting for the exam in 1986.

Greg has extensive experience in accounting, process and business consulting.  Add to that a strong corporate, partnership and individual taxation background.  He has functioned as a CFO/Controller within private industry for nearly 30 years overseeing numerous areas including accounting, human resources, IT, vendor relationships, internal audit and payroll.

Greg is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).  He has served as a member of the Reynolds and Reynolds customer liaison board providing valuable feedback with respect to DMS improvements.

Greg lives in Ellicott City, Maryland, with his wife, Nancy, and has three adult children.  He enjoys spending time with family and friends, the outdoors, playing golf and tending to his yard which holds multiple gardens that draw praise from those passing by.



Marc founded Crumback & Associates in 2004. Prior to that, he worked for over                                                  18 years at a large regional CPA firm in Washington, D.C. and has worked                                                        exclusively with automotive clients since 1990.

Marc created the only CPA firm of its kind in the Washington-Baltimore region,                                                    specializing in, and serving, only one client, the automobile dealer.  He is now expanding                                      his practice to the Grand Strand Area in beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC.

In addition to providing tax and financial reporting guidance to his clients, Marc regularly consults on a variety of matters including the acquisition or sale of dealerships, negotiating and obtaining financing for operational growth and improved cash management, developing estate and succession plans, reviewing asset management procedures, internal controls and analysis of performance benchmarks. 

Marc has led several initiatives while specializing in the automotive industry including:

Designing industry specific audit programs and review engagement procedures
Designing analytical review models to evaluate dealership operations
Managing the presentation of “Auto Dealer Workshops”
Serving as a lead instructor for in-house educational programs, teaching courses including Automotive Industry Tax & Accounting Training and S Corporation Taxation for both basic and advanced level CPA's
Designing and implementing Information Safeguarding Programs for auto dealers
